Barcelona City Council aims to make a website with an accessible design available to the public, so that as many people as possible can access the information provided there, regardless of each person's limitations or those arising from the context of use. In this way, we wish to help people who are elderly or have some kind of disability, as well as those who want to access it using any type of device or technology.
In order to achieve this goal, the WCAG 1.0 accessibility guidelines (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 1.0) established by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) working group, belonging to the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), have been taken into account. More specifically, we want all Barcelona City Council websites to comply with the applicable Priority 1 guidelines, all applicable Priority 2 guidelines and a subset of Priority 3 guidelines.
The accessible design allows the user to adjust the font size to suit their needs. This action can be performed in different ways depending on the web browser used. The menu paths where this functionality is located are as follows:
- Firefox. View> Text Size> Increase / Decrease
- Explorer. View> Text Size> Larger
- Explorer mobile. View> Zoom> Larger
- Konkeror. View> Increase Font / Decrease Font
- Opera. View> Zoom>%
- Safari. View > Make text bigger
The accessible design allows users to deactivate the visual design and access the content in a single column format with black letters on a white background (according to the default settings of most graphical browsers). There are also web browsers that allow you to select a personal style sheet, in order to adapt the presentation to the needs of the user.
Keyboard shortcuts are a navigation system that allows you to visit this website using the keyboard in a quick way. These shortcuts provide links to the website's main sections and utilities.
- Municipal vehicle pounds
- Reclaiming your vehicle
- Vehicle surrender
For keyboard shortcuts on Microsoft Windows-based systems, use the key combination ALT + hot key or ALT + hot key + return key. On systems based on the MacOS operating system, the CONTROL + hotkey combination can be used. On other systems, the combination ALT + uppercase + hotkey can be used.
